If you or your child are experiencing a medical emergency, please visit your local emergency department or call 911 immediately.

Like all hospitals in Ontario, we are seeing a higher number of patients, including children, coming to our Emergency Departments (ED). Patients are prioritized based on their care needs when they arrive which means the sickest people will be seen first. People with less serious concerns will wait longer. PLEASE NOTE:

The Emergency Department will close on Thursday, September 14th from 5 am to 10 am to allow for a major power shutdown related to the construction of the new Emergency Department.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will take you to the nearest Emergency Department for care. Patients can also speak with a Registered Nurse at Telehealth Ontario by calling toll-free 1-866-797-0000 or TTY 1-866-797-0007. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patients who are registered can also contact the East Region Virtual Care Clinic at www.virtualcareontario.ca or 1-888-684-1999.
